"Well, at least that wasn't weird."

I find it HILARIOUS* that in Dodgeball, the chest of winnings at the end of the movie that saves everything for Peter La Fleur and his team has the words "deus ex machina" written on it.

In fact, I think it's the funniest thing I've ever seen in a film.

*The word ironic has been replaced by hilarious. Apparently, I'm an illiterate baboon...

n. pl. i·ro·nies

1. The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.
2. An expression or utterance marked by a deliberate contrast between apparent and intended meaning.
3. A literary style employing such contrasts for humorous or rhetorical effect. See Synonyms at wit1.
1. Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs: “Hyde noted the irony of Ireland's copying the nation she most hated” (Richard Kain).

so I'm thinking that doesn't quite fit the defenition so maybe blatant or obtuse even crass might have been what you where looking for

What I meant was I think its the funniest thing I've ever seen. I think it not blatant, obtuse nor crass. In fact, its rather clever, because what audience of Ben Stiller's would be versed in classical narrative tools?

Perhaps, then, I have to word totally wrong. I rather find it intellectually priceless. and will note that in the post.
